Dr. Nock is an assistant professor of ecosystem-based forest management in the Department of Renewable Resources at the University of Alberta. Charles research interests are in forest ecology, global change and the sustainable management of forests.

REN R100 - Forests: Ecology, Use and Society

An introduction to forest trees, plants, insects, fungi, fire, biodiversity and ecology. Discusses the use of forests for wood products recreation, watersheds, wildlife, carbon, and overall management and policies in Alberta and elsewhere. Not available for credit to BSc Forestry or BSc Forest Business Management students. Credit will only be given for one of REN R 100 or FOR 100.
