Major Responsibilities/Research Interests:

Kathryn Chandler coordinates the undergraduate Practicum Program, securing and monitoring field placements for all fourth year Human Ecology students. In this role she strives to cultivate rewarding local, national and international practicum placements that help students build their professional skills and connections. Professor Chandler also teaches senior professional practice courses and coaches students as they complete their practicums. Her goal with teaching is to create inclusive and caring learning environments that foster a sense of community and self-discovery.

Professor Chandler's research interests are in the areas of experiential learning, professional practice, career development, and effective teaching and learning. Kathryn Chandler is a registered Human Ecologist (PHEc) and member of the Alberta Human Ecology and Home Economics Association (AHEA), the National Society of Experiential Education (NSEE), and the International Federation of Home Economics (IFHE).
