Job/Research Area

Quantitative/Statistical Genomics

Major Responsibilities/Research Interests

Research interest is to enhance our understanding of genetic variations in animal populations and exploiting this to increase production efficiency and product quality of livestock. Research emphasis is mainly focused on the development of new theories and statistical methodologies that can be applied to genetic improvement of livestock. Current research activities include 1) whole genome association analysis; 2) genomic value prediction using high density SNP marker genotyping information; 3) identification of genes, gene networks, gene by environment interactions; 4) elucidation of gene functions and mechanisms, which affect economically relevant phenotypic traits, especially for beef and pork carcass, meat quality, net feed efficiency traits.
