BSc Forestry Approved Program Electives (APE)
Guidelines
Approved Program Electives (APE) must be selected according to the following directions:
- The following courses are accepted as APEs towards your current program of study.
- Students must have any prerequisites listed in the UofA Calendar before taking a course.
- Students should always follow the most current APE list when selecting APEs.
- The total 100 and 200 level APEs cannot be greater than 2 courses (*6).
- Only one field course in addition to RENR 299 may be taken as an APE.
- Students may take REN R 465 only once.
- Courses can only be used once for credit within your program of study
Forestry
- ACCTG 300 - Introduction to Accounting
- AN SC - Any course at the 200 level or higher
- AREC - Any course at the 300 level or higher
- BIOL - Any course at the 300 level or higher
- BOT - Any course at the 300 level or higher
- EAS 221 - Introduction to Geographical Information Systems and Remote Sensing
- EAS 250 - Biogeography
- EAS 324 - Quaternary Geoscience and Terrain Analysis
- EAS 351 - Environmental Applications of Geographical Information Systems
- ENCS - Any courses, except REN R 250
- ENGG 404 - Engineering Safety and Loss Management
- ENGG 406 - Engineering Safety and Risk Management
- ENT - Any course at the 300 level or higher
- NS 201 - Aboriginal Canada: Looking Forward/Looking Back
