Every student in the Faculty of ALES must complete a capstone course. Capstone courses are senior-level courses in which students, working in teams, conduct a project to solve a challenging practical problem in their field by drawing on everything they’ve studied during their undergraduate program.
In addition to emphasizing critical thinking, capstones must have substantial scope, demand ethical and professional conduct, and include oral and written communication.
Furthermore, the Undergraduate Research Initiative
offers a variety of support and services for undergraduate students who are interested in conducting research.
A wide variety of research opportunities are available for ALES graduate students. Please consult the Graduate Programs
section on this website for a list of opportunities and further information.
