BRAED/ACSRC: Webinars for Thought Series

Background and Overview:

In February of 2014, the Battle River Alliance for Economic Development, in partnership with Alberta Works, hosted a Forum on Labour. Invited guests included BRAED member municipalities, the business community, and other stakeholders. Throughout the daylong workshop, facilitator Kristen Cumming worked with the group to prioritize and identify key areas of focus that BRAED, along with the business community and municipalities could work on to improve on the current realities of labour force attraction and retention in Eastern Alberta. Many of the discussions circled around the need for information, knowledge exchange, and training opportunities that required little time commitment and travel. Out of the Labour Forum, one of the deliverables that was developed was the "Webinars for Thought" project.

The Alberta Centre for Sustainable Rural Communities agreed to partner with BRAED on executing this project, and the two provided audiences with a wide-range of webinar training offerings in 2014 and 2015.
