Beaver County Youth Retention and Collaboration Initiative

In 2015, the ACSRC, Viking/Beaver Family and Community Support Services (FCSS), Tofield FCSS and a number of Beaver County municipalities partnered to propose regional programming that explores youth engagement, youth infrastructure and youth economic development in Beaver County. The overall goal of this Youth Engagement Initiatives was to retain and attract youth to pursue a future in Beaver County after they have completed their post-secondary education. Aside from the economic benefits of this, other long term goals are to build youth capacity in leadership, voluntarism and governance to make a social investment in our future. To achieve this, a series of engagement, planning and asset mapping events were held throughout the course of the project to identify youth oriented resources, venues and opportunities. A collaborative youth engagement strategy was developed to guide future planning for youth across Beaver County. The project was completed in the spring of 2017, however the impact of the project are ongoing within the county.
