I did not reserve a seat, can I still attend in-person convocation this July?

Registration is now closed and we are not able to consider requests to attend.

I forgot to reserve my apparel. How do I do that now?

If you didn't reserve your apparel immediately after registering for your ceremony, you may rent apparel on the day of your ceremony at the U of A Bookstore during your designated pick up time.


How will I know where and when to pick up my apparel and guest tickets?
Confirm your ceremony date pick up and drop off times here. Tickets and apparel will not be available for pick up until your specific ceremony time.

I forgot to reserve my apparel. How do I do that now?
The cost to rent apparel is $50 ($52.50 for PhD), which is paid at the Bookstore cashier after picking up your tickets. Proceed to the Gaspard's counter with your receipt for your apparel pick up. If you have questions about previously reserved apparel, please be in touch with Gaspard's directly. 
Will extra guest tickets be available?

Once all grads have had a chance to claim up to six guest tickets for their ceremony, extra tickets will be sent to the Info Den counter in the Pavilion on Social Street. You may line up there to request extra guest tickets. They will be distributed first-come-first-served. 


Will there be graduation photos taken at the ceremony?

Yes. The university has contracted a professional photographer, GradImages, to take your photo as you cross the stage. A passport-sized, full-colour proof will be emailed to you after the ceremony. There is no obligation to purchase. You will be asked to complete a photo consent card at the Bookstore when you pick up your ceremony packet. Please contact GradImages for more information.

Will the ceremonies be live-streamed?

Yes. Live streams will be available for each ceremony and will be available for viewing by visiting the Celebrate Together homepage.

Will I get another parchment and folder to cross the stage?

No. You received your official University of Alberta parchment by mail when you graduated. You will not receive another parchment or folder at your ceremony.

How early should I arrive before my ceremony?

Doors open 30 minutes before the ceremony so anytime after that.


Where can my guests park?

Parking is available in the Education, Jubilee, Stadium, and Varsity lots during the event. Parking Lot Locations

What will my guests need to bring for my ceremony?

Your guests will need to bring their tickets with them.

Will children require a seat?

Fire code regulations state that everyone is required to have a seat, including children and babies.

Where do guests sit?

Guests will be seated in the bleachers and concourse seating in the Pavilion; seating is general admission. We ask that guests be seated well before the start of the ceremony. Ushers will be available to assist with seating.

What if my guests need additional accommodations in the seating area?

Anyone who requires accessible seating should identify themselves to any of our ushers in the Pavilion.

Will there be any activities planned?

Feel free to walk the beautiful University of Alberta grounds with your guests, take pictures and visit your favorite spots. Food trucks will be on-site for you and your guests.
