Corporate Alumni Relations

The University of Alberta is piloting a Corporate Alumni Relations program to engage key corporations that have a longstanding relationship with the university and employ a significant number of students and alumni.

The CAR program provides its corporate partners with greater access to university resources and delivers learning, development and leadership opportunities.

Connecting Industry to Research

The CAR program highlights research excellence, innovation and collaboration between the university and corporate partners. Through events, working sessions and other customizable programs, we showcase faculty whose work is of interest to your business including projects that have been financially supported or sponsored by your corporation.

Professional Development

We can host your employees at university learning opportunities or develop custom programs that focus on professional development topics such as leadership, change management and emotional intelligence.

Meaningful Volunteer Opportunities

Our volunteers change lives and give back to the university community. Opportunities include:

  • Custom programs aligned to your employee volunteer and engagement goals


Student Engagement

Through programs like job shadow week, mentorship, info sessions, career forums and speed networking, we facilitate connections between professionals and students. These initiatives provide great volunteer and leadership opportunities for your employees while helping your company find top talent.

Industry-specific Programming

CAR is developing programming to connect industry professionals, explore industry-specific challenges and showcase University of Alberta research and innovation within that sector. We are piloting this initiative with the energy sector but aim to expand to other industries. We can involve your employees as programming advisory members (alumni only) and volunteers as well as provide corporations with complimentary tickets to test-drive programs.
