Christine Westerlund, ’95 BScN(Hons), ’01 MSc

Senate Representative

Christine graduated from the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Alberta in 1995 and then began graduate studies on a part time basis. In 2001, Christine completed her Masters in Science in Health Promotion (now captured under the School of Public Health).

Christine started her career as a Public Health Nurse in 1995 and practiced front line nursing for a few years before transitioning into various management and leadership positions in the health field. Currently, she is the Senior Operating Officer at the Stollery Children’s Hospital. Her passion to support children and families keep her motivated to make health care delivery, quality, safety and the patient/family experience to be superior. At the moment, in her career, she has the opportunity to sit on two boards; the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation and Children’s Healthcare Canada.

Christine and her husband, Barrett – another UofA alumni (’94 BA, ’96 BComm, ’99 LL.B) live in Sherwood Park, where they are raising their two sons.
