Clinical Academic Colleague Promotions

There are many accomplished contributors to the clinical, leadership and academic missions of this department who are deserving of promotion. Now it is time to call for applications for those that wish to be considered for promotion. Some are reluctant to put their names forward and may need an arm twisted…so feel free to twist the arm of a colleague you feel deserving.To nomicate, please include:

  • Letter of interest highlighting the grounds for promotion
  • Current copy of your CV
  • Chronology of your teaching, research and/or publications, if you have scores for your teaching activities please include them.

Completed applications must be submitted to the Chair’s Office by Nov 30, 2012. The Promotions Committee (Drs Colin Noble, Dorothy Hardy, Saifee Rashiq & Chair) will deliberate and make recommendations to the Chair by Feb 28 and the Chair will submit letters of support to the Dean by April 30. These timelines are a little different than those in the Guidelines document as it gives all of us more time to get through the process!

Note: Those applying for promotion to Full Professor will need three (3) letters from references. There is no requirement for these individuals to be ‘arms length’ but it is helpful if it is someone who can attest to your dedication, skill, commitment and accomplishments rather than your best friend or your mother!

Clearly, this is not about prestige or money…but credit where credit is due!
