Congratulations to Aleksa Alaica on her Assistant Professorship appointment at UBC

UAlberta Anthropology post doctoral fellow receives appointment at University of British Columbia

Working with Anthropology professor Rob Losey, Aleksa Alaica obtained a Killam Memorial Postdoctoral Fellowship to continue her research on human-animal interactions in the Andes at the University of Alberta. Her research on Moche period animal management and the incorporation of animals into daily and ritual practices is ongoing. She joined the Department of Anthropology at UBC in 2022 where she began investigating the impact of Wari state expansion on food security and interregional interaction in the Nasca region.
