About Me

I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Alberta. My research fields are development economics and international trade with a focus on the microeconomic impacts on households. I particularly studied the effect of globalization on poverty, income distribution, and consumer prices in developing countries. I have also worked on the impacts of energy consumption and production on households in terms of their income and expenditure, as well as the household-level responses to income shocks concerning child outcomes. I am also a Research Fellow of the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA) since 2018.
