My background is in second language acquisition and language pedagogy. I completed a PhD in Education at the University of Alberta, and I began teaching at the University of Alberta in 2007. As a Korean language coordinator, I have experience in teaching undergraduate students and building a full language curriculum. Currently, I am working on a Korean textbook that emphasizes group work-based learning and interactive activities. I also have a deep interest in teaching Korean linguistics and developing educational material that is more user friendly and accessible to non-native Korean speakers.
In 2017, I developed the University of Alberta’s Korean Culture Club, which has been a successful way for students to actively experience Korean culture through cuisine, dance, art, and language exchange.
