About Me


I locate my teaching and research interests in postcolonial theory, Middle Eastern and North African literatures, composition theory, and masculinity and terrorism studies. My publications include Crossing Borderlands: Composition and Postcolonial Studies (U of Pittsburgh P, 2004), African Masculinities: men in Africa from the late 19th century to the present (Palgrave, 2005), Islamic Masculinities (Zed Books, 2006), and Men in African Film & Fiction (James Currey, 2011).
