About Me

I am an environmental historian of Canada. My research focuses on the Canadian Prairies, and addresses questions related to water management (with particular concern for the extremes of flood or drought) and government institutions (whether at national, provincial, or local scales).

I'm at work on a major project on the Prairie Farm Rehabilitation Administration, an agency of the Canadian federal government that was created in the context of the prairie climate emergency of the 1930s and that remained operational through 2012.

I'm pleased to work with students interested in Canadian and environmental history, especially on topics pertaining to the prairie west.
