SSHRC Submissions: Once your application is completed and you have produced a new project signature page, your Chair must review your application and sign off. Then, the signature page, application and any supporting documents should be forwarded to the Faculty of Arts Research Office (resarts@ualberta.ca) as a single pdf document. Once your application has been reviewed by the Associate Dean (Research), you will be provided with comments while the application is transferred to the RSO for final review. (Note: After you hear back from the RSO, please aim to submit your application to SSHRC the day before their deadline, this ensures sufficient time for the RSO to complete the online institutional approval which finalizes your submission.)

Killam Submissions:  The Office of the VPR requires two copies - a hard copy delivered to their office, plus an electronic copy submitted via e-mail.  Moreover, the application must be accompanied by a new project signature page, and there are four signatures required on both the application and the 'signature page': applicant, Chair, Faculty ADR, and RSO.  So, after you and your Chair have signed off, you will need to do the following: (i) drop the hard copy off at the Faculty Office, where it will be reviewed, signed, and left for you to pick up; (ii) take the hard copy from the Faculty Office to the RSO, where it will be reviewed, signed, and left for you to pick up; (iii) take the hard copy from the RSO, scan it to create a PDF that you can submit via e-mail, and then deliver the hard copy to the office of the VPR.

SAS & Conference Fund Submissions:For SAS grant applications, the application, Chair’s assessment form, and required supporting documents should be combined in a single PDF document (in that order) and e-mailed to resarts@ualberta.ca. Faculty of Arts Conference Grant applications should also be forwarded to resarts@ualberta.ca.  A new project signature page is NOT required with these applications.

TLEF Submissions: For TLEF submissions, the CTL office requires two copies – a hard copy delivered to their office, plus an electronic copy submitted via e-mail.  Applications must be accompanied by a new project signature page.  After you and your Chair have signed off, you will need to do the following: (i) drop the hard copy off at the Faculty Office, to the attention of Ms. Kelly Gray, where it will be reviewed, signed, and left for you to pick up; (ii) take the hard copy from the Faculty Office to the RSO, where it will be reviewed, signed, and left for you to pick up; (iii) take the hard copy from the RSO, scan it to create a PDF that you can submit via e-mail, and then deliver the hard copy to the CTL office.
