University Symphony Orchestra featuring the University of Alberta Opera Theatre Workshop

Figaro, Juliet and Baba Yaga walk into a bar... To hear how it all ends you'll have to come to our concert! Rest assured that it will be about love, humour, tragedy, angelic voices and saxophones.
The program will feature awesome talents from our own University of Alberta Opera Theatre Workshop, singing one of the most beautiful human creations ever put to paper, the Act II Finale of Mozart's Marriage of Figaro. The remainder of our concert will highlight some of the greatest symphonic writing for the saxophone. Rachmaninov's Symphonic Dances, Mussorgsky/Ravel's Pictures at an Exhibition and, to go with our love theme, a Romeo and Juliet suite by Prokofiev.
This concert is a part of the Department of Music's 2022-2023 "Music at the Winspear" Series.
