The Community Captains program
is a new initiative from the University of Alberta. By partnering with local businesses to provide complimentary tickets to students (K-12) within the greater Edmonton area, Golden Bears and Pandas basketball is focused on creating a meaningful connection between community, business, and sport.
Community Captains have the unique opportunity to showcase their business while also providing a positive sport experience to students in their community. Each student, in addition to receiving a complimentary varsity basketball ticket, will also receive a letter describing the Community Captain’s dedication to community engagement and sport.
The final component of the Community Captains program is the ability for businesses to include an exclusive promotion or coupon in each student’s take home package. By combining the coupon with the complimentary ticket and popcorn voucher, families within the community will be effectively exposed to the Community Captain’s business and upcoming promotions.
Each Community Captain package includes:
50 youth tickets
50 popcorn vouchers
4 adult tickets (for Community Captain use)
Take home package (for each student)
Exclusive promotional coupon from Community Captain (optional)
Exposure at the selected varsity game
Public address announcement
Video board logo display
Community Captains have the freedom to choose which school will receive the tickets, as well as the games for which the tickets are valid. Golden Bears and Pandas basketball will work with the administration at the selected school to arrange for varsity athletes to distribute tickets and promote the event.
One (1) Community Captain partnership is valued at $600, but Golden Bears and Pandas basketball is more than willing to work with local businesses to develop an agreement that benefits both parties.
