Trio of Pandas named Canada West All-Stars

    Corbett, Daines and McNutt honoured by Canada West on Wednesday

    Pandas midfielder Morgan Corbett, and forwards Sydney Daines and Karissa McNutt were all named Women's Soccer All-Stars, as the conference announced the first, second and all-rookie teams on Wednesday.

    Corbett and Daines were both named First Team All-Stars, while McNutt was named to the second all-star squad. 

    Daines finished second on the Pandas with five goals in 13 matches, while McNutt recorded seven points in 13 matches. Corbett added four goals from the midfield position, leading the Pandas with 41 shots this season. 

    Highlights:

    - The conference women's soccer all-stars and all-rookies were unveiled ahead of this weekend's CW Final Four in Langley, B.C.
    - Calgary led the way with six players honoured after topping the Prairie Division during the regular season
    - The conference's major award winners will be unveiled Thursday morning

    Combined, the Final Four schools had 18 players honoured as all-stars or all-rookies: Calgary (6), TWU (5), UBC (4), and Alberta (3).

    The four teams will be looking to snag one of two CW berths to the national tournament Friday, as the semifinal winners will earn a berth to the U SPORTS national tournament, which is set for November 8-11 at the University of Ottawa.

    UBC takes on Calgary in the first CW semi this Friday at 3 p.m. PDT, while TWU plays Alberta later that day at 6 p.m. PDT.
