About Me

I completed a Ph.D in computer science from Pohang University of Science and Technology  (POSTECH) in August 2005.  To see my full CV, please check my website  http://www.ualberta.ca/~miyoung2 .

 I have been working as a Co-organizer of Competition on Legal Information Extraction/Entailment (COLIEE) competitions 2014-2017. For details, please see COLIEE2017 website   .   


My research interests are in natural language processing, machine learning, and text analytics. Currently, I'm studying information extraction from two specific domains (legal records and medical records.) 


My teaching courses are  AUCSC 111 (Introduction to Computational Thinking and Problem Solving) in Fall 2017, AUCSC 415 (Automata, Algorithms and Complexity), and AUCSC 460 (Artificial Intelligence) in Winter 2018.
