Welcome to the Augustana Campus of the University of Alberta, an extraordinary student-focused community dedicated to providing an exciting and life-changing education.

As a student at Augustana, you can choose from a wide array of programs that lead to a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Management, Bachelor of Music or a combined Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Education degree. Whatever your interests, you will have an opportunity to benefit from the numerous advantages of a welcoming, close-knit campus community while earning a degree from a top-five Canadian and top-one-hundred world university.

Located in Camrose, a welcoming city of 17,000 people, approximately 90 kilometers from Edmonton, Augustana serves students from all parts of Alberta, many Canadian provinces, and countries around the world. The combination of our human scale (approximately 1000 students), rich diversity, and individual attention from faculty and staff creates what we believe is a particularly exciting learning environment.

Each year my message to new students is that “the good news and the bad news are the same…..your professors will know your name!” Our campus is not a place where students easily fall through the cracks or wait days for an appointment with a teacher or an advisor. Above all, as an Augustana student you will be challenged to be an active participant in your own learning. You will be invited to be a contributor and a leader, not a spectator.

At Augustana, we believe that experiences outside the classroom are a powerful teacher. Our students travel far and wide (e.g., taking advantage of our programs in Cuba, Germany, Costa Rica, India, etc.), they participate in outdoor excursions (e.g., learning to run a dog-sled team or canoe an Arctic river), they actively engage with surrounding communities (e.g., writing municipal sustainability plans, working in internships, volunteering in schools, etc.), and they participate in research projects alongside faculty who are experts in their fields.

I encourage you to come for a visit. Our students, faculty and staff welcome your questions and are always glad to share their own Augustana stories.

I look forward to meeting you myself.
