Alumni Awards

The Augustana Alumni Office and its generous supporters are pleased to provide the Augustana Alumni Leadership Award, given to a student with satisfactory academic standing continuing in an undergraduate degree at Augustana Faculty. Selection is based on demonstrated leadership and volunteerism on campus.

Alongside the Augustana Alumni Leadership Award, we also offer the Phil and Doris Anderson Alumni Award (formerly the Augustana Alumni Entrance Award) - an endowed award which will be presented to one student each year. The eligible student will be entering the second or subsequent year of an undergraduate degree program at Augustana Faculty. Selection will be based on satisfactory academic standing and demonstrated leadership, community engagement, volunteerism and/or involvement in extracurricular activities at Augustana Campus.

Augustana Alumni 2019 Award Recipient

Augustana Alumni Leadership Award: Kylie Peake

Growing up in New Norway, Kylie Peake always had the idea of attending Augustana on her mind. Now in her third year and on her way to earning her bachelor of science in biology, Kylie does much more on campus than study and attend classes. As a student chaplain with Augustana's Chaplaincy program, a member of the Vikings Cross-Country Running Team, an executive for the Chemistry Society and a student program coordinator for the Campus Visits program, one could say that Kylie Lives and breathes Augustana and its opportunities every day. It is Kylie's involvement across campus that made her the ideal recipient of the Augustana Alumni Leadership Award. With the goal of continuing her education to pursue a career in health care, Kylie finds this support invaluable.

Phil and Doris Anderson Alumni Award: Matthew Caffaro

Accepted into many universities in his last year of high school, Matthew Caffaro chose Augustana over them all. Currently in his fourth year of his sociology degree and looking to graduate this year with his bachelor of arts, Matthew knows he made the right choice. In addition to his studies, Matthew's dedication can be found on many areas of campus. In his second and third year, he was involved with the Augustana Students' Association. This year, he has broadened his involvement and is now both a residence assistant and a student chaplain with Chaplaincy. When asked about this award, Matthew places an extra emphasis on the relief the financial assistance provides and how he's committed to making the most of his university experience because of the award.
