Academic Requirements by Subject

A student must have completed the following subjects for each degree program. A combined average of 70% must be achieved on the 5 required subjects, with no mark below 50%.

Bachelor of Arts

Subject Requirements:

  • English
  • Three subjects from Group A (Humanities) or Group C (Sciences)
  • One subject from Group A (Humanities), B (Fine Arts), C (Sciences), or other approved fifth subject

  • One subject from Group A, B, or C or other approved fifth subject

Additional Requirements:

An audition is required. Students should contact the Augustana Department of Fine Arts, Music Division to schedule an audition by April 15 for Fall term. For more information, please refer to Augustana’s Bachelor of Music Audition Procedures & Application.

 

Bachelor of Science

  • English
  • Mathematics (Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry)
    • NOTE: for a major in Physical Education, one subject from Group A (Humanities) or C (Sciences) may be presented in lieu of Mathematics
  • Two subjects from Group C (Sciences)
    • NOTE: for a major in Computing Science, one subject from Group A (Humanities) may be presented in lieu of a second Group C (Sciences) subject; see additional requirements below for other specific majors and minors
  • One subject from Group A (Humanities), B (Fine Arts), C (Sciences), or other approved fifth subject
