Performance Grants

Drama Grant Information (PDF)

The Drama program offers a number of scholarships to new and promising students each year, as well as deserving returning students. Criteria for the awarding of these scholarships includes some practical demonstration of talent and potential. All scholarships offered are subject to auditions in September for both new and returning students.

An Awards application must also be completed by April 1st.

To provide us with a practical demonstration of talent, we require all new and returning student applicants to come with a prepared audition piece for final selection in September. The piece should be no longer than 5 minutes in length and should be a monologue taken from a dramatic source, whether classical or modern. Audition times will be posted at the Theatre Centre on campus by the first day of classes.

Note: A new scholarship has been established which provides a deserving new student with four years of financial reward (providing the student maintains a GPA of at least 2.0 and enrols in all improvisation-based courses offered by the department). This scholarship honours the life and legacy of American Theatre Director, Paul Sills, and was first awarded in 2011.
