All music degree programs include:
- applied music courses (private lessons and ensembles)
- courses in music history
- music theory
- ethnomusicology
- aural and keyboard skills
- and a variety of elective music courses
Students with previous work in music theory and advanced abilities in aural skills may be given advanced status, being able to replace certain courses with electives. In affiliation with Conservatory Canada, students who have completed music history, theory, and aural and keyboard skills courses at Augustana are able to transfer these to Conservatory Canada, in order to satisfy some of the written requirements.
