Dr. Shauna Wilton
(Ph.D., Alberta, M.A., Carleton, B.A., Manitoba)
Dr. Wilton began teaching at Augustana in 2003 and teaches primarily in political studies. Her main teaching areas are related to gender, ethnicity, popular culture, and law and politics. In particular, she is interested in exploring the law through interdisciplinary and intersectional lenses that incorporate gender, race and class. Her current research is focused on family policy and the politics of mothering, and gender, race and class in crime fiction, television and film. She also does research on teaching, which focuses on student engagement and developing research skills.
