Model U.N. Courses

The Model UN course gives students an opportunity to experience the world of international diplomacy. Students meet one evening per week for AUPOL 248/348 where they engage in an in-depth study of the functioning of the United Nations and are assigned to represent a specific member-state of the United Nations. Students also learn the rules of diplomacy when sitting in the UN Chambers in preparation for the simulation. Toward the close of the semester, students travel to attend the National Model United Nations simulation (New York or Washington, DC) where they engage students from around the globe in an attempt to grapple with some of the world's most difficult problems and challenges.
