Introduction to Outdoor Education

AUPED 284 is offered in the Fall semester 3 week block.  

AUPED 184 is offered in the Winter semester 3 week block. 

Course Description: Opportunity for self-awareness and personal and group leadership development through outdoor tripping and small-group living.  The skills associated with backpacking, snowshoeing, river canoe tripping, and Leave No Trace camping are developed and practiced.  In addition educational and recreational use of wilderness and wild lands is examined.  

Students must participate in field trips and furnish his/her own outdoor clothing, footwear, and sleeping bag.
