Summer Course is offered in the spring semester every second year with a three-week excursion to the Albertan wilderness. A Mandatory Instructional Support Fee (MISF) will be charged in addition to regular University of Alberta tuition. This fee includes the following:
- Most meals (lunch and supper in Camrose, all tripping food other than personal snacks – you will have to purchase two or three meals on the road)
- All travel
- All instructional fees
- Paddle Canada, OCC and RLS membership fee
- Use of all equipment other than that listed on personal clothing and equipment list (we supply tents, wetsuits, helmets, canoes, paddles, PFD’s, cooking equipment, backpacks, and more)
- Access to appropriate used clothing and supplies

The MIS fee for Summer Course 2016 is between $1500 and $2200. The final amount will be confirmed upon booking of accommodations. All payments are non-refundable.

While Augustana will supply some of the equipment for the expedition, students are required to provide personal clothing and equipment. A detailed list of supplies can be found here.
Students who lose or damage Augustana equipment may be required to pay for its replacement.
