Volunteer Information

Thank you for your interest in volunteering. Accessibility Resources (AR) recruits volunteer note takers for students who have disabilities or medical conditions that interfere with their ability to take notes. Note-taking Services is looking for organized and responsible individuals capable of sharing notes for courses on a regular basis.

Volunteering for note-taking is a great opportunity to add experience to your resume as you can list note taking activity as volunteer work. The number of volunteer hours correspond with the time spent in class while writing notes and, at the end of the term, we are pleased to provide a Letter of Acknowledgement recognizing this volunteer work upon your request.

Notes can be taken either by hand or on a computer. For handwritten notes submitted online in ClockWork, we suggest using black ink with a regular point on regular or high density white paper. For typed notes, we suggest Arial typeface, 12 pt font, in black on a white background. Both of these suggestions contribute to the best readability of notes.

Notes can be submitted online or given directly to the student. Please consult with Augustana's Accessibility Advisor for more information at augar@ualberta.ca or in L1-090.

Letter of Acknowledgement

To receive a Letter of Volunteer Acknowledgement, email your request to augar@ualberta.ca.

Please note that 10-15 working days may be required to process Letters of Acknowledgement.
