mîkiwahp (tipi) Use Guidelines

TipiPerson taking photo of the tipi frameThe mîkiwahp (tipi) on the Augustana campus is meant to be a welcoming space that provides a traditional space for students, faculty, staff and community members. It is a place that holds spiritual and cultural value, and can provide a venue for traditional ceremonies and private and group retreats.

The Indigenous Engagement Advisory Committee finalized Tipi Use Guidelines (PDF) for the mîkiwahp in March 2016. These guidelines should be followed by anyone intending to use the mîkiwahp for an event, or just as a place to relax and enjoy.

The mîkiwahp can be booked by Augustana employees through Rom. Off-campus user inquiries should be made to Indigenous Student Services.
