Some of our students have recently participated in the 3-Minute Thesis competitions on campus.
The Three Minute Thesis (3MT) is an academic competition that assists current graduate students with fostering effective presentations and communication skills. Participants have just three minutes to explain the breadth and significance of their research project to a non-specialist audience.
3MT was developed by The University of Queensland in 2008, and is now held in nineteen countries around the world. As of 2015, over 139 universities from Sweden to Columbia, Japan to Iran have participated in this fun, highly informative and very entertaining event.
2015 was the inaugural UAlberta 3MT competition.
Featured below is a 3-Minute Thesis presentation by one of our Ph.D. candidates, Jason Gardiner (E. Scarpella Lab).
