Runjuan Liu is the Alexander Hamilton Associate Professor of Business Economics in the Alberta School of Business at the University of Alberta, Canada. She is also a Special-Term Professor and a Tianjin “The Thousand Talents Program” Scholar in the School of Economics at Nankai University, China.
Professor Liu’s research examines the impact of trade liberalization on firms and workers. Her research has been funded by Canadian Social Science and Humanities Research Council and Worldwide Universities Network and published in journals such as Journal of International Economics, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Economic Geography, and Canadian Journal of Economics, among others.
Professor Liu received her Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Toronto, her M.A. in Economics from Peking University, and her B.A. from Nankai University. She is a Canadian citizen born in China.
