I am interested in how imperfections in labor markets and political institutions affect the allocation of financial capital in the economy. Thus, my research focus lies at the intersection of corporate finance, labor economics, and political economy.

Examples of broad research questions that I seek to answer include:

  • How do labor market barriers related to immigration policy affect firms' demand for capital?
  • How do political incentives affect the benefits and funding policies of public pension plans?
  • Does geographically-targeted government spending distort the allocation of financial capital in local economies?

I teach Capital Investment (FIN 422) and Corporate Financial Planning (FIN 430) during the winter term.
