Throughout the year, the Alberta School of Business holds special events that bring together students, alumni, donors and the business community to share and engage in the teaching, research and achievements of the School.
The reimagined “Report to the Community” event brings together influential business, non-profit and government leaders from across Alberta for lunch, networking and discussion around the School’s role as a valued partner in the business community.
Each year since 1982, the Alberta School of Business and its Business Advisory Council (BAC) have presented the Canadian Business Leader Award to a Canadian of distinction. CBLA recipients are individuals who have demonstrated leadership, business acumen and success, an entrepreneurial spirit, integrity and a commitment to the community. The selection committee is comprised of members of the BAC, as well as students, faculty and alumni.
Established to honour the late Eric Geddes, ’47 BCom, the Geddes Lecture Series features leaders from both the private and public sectors, in addition to bringing some of Alberta's world-class researchers and their findings to the community, with the goal of promoting awareness and discussion on timely, impactful, and relevant business topics.
The Business Alumni Association (BAA) hosts a number of events over the course of the year. The largest of these is the BAA Annual Dinner – bringing together more than 250 business alumni and guests to hear a topical keynote speaker.
The ABFI Signature events recognize the legacy of family-owned enterprises that have supported our communities and contribute to the growth of our economy.
Organized by the School of Retailing, this is the largest student run retailing event in Canada, with the intent to change the perception of the retailing sector through industry engagement.
