Sarah Moore

Sarah Moore, Recipient of a 2020 Great Supervisor Award

Sarah Moore, Associate Professor in the Department of Marketing, Business Economics & Law, has received a 2020 Great Supervisor Award. The Faculty of Graduate Studies & Research recognizes supervisors who demonstrate strong supervisory skills or who foster mentorship in their programs.

As noted in her nomination:

Sarah Moore is a truly exceptional Supervisor. She is currently supervising four PhD students, always finding time and energy for each one. Sarah constantly provides kind and helpful encouragement with appropriate nudges to keep students moving forward. She engages with students' research and engages them in her research - and she does all this with a continually positive outlook that makes her a pleasure to work with. For all these reasons, Sarah Moore is most deserving of the Great Supervisor Award!

Xiaowen Zhang

Xiaowen Zhang, Recipient of a 2020 Graduate Student Teaching Award

Xiaowen Zhang, current Business PhD student, has been recognized with a 2020 Graduate Student Teaching Award. The Graduate Student Teaching Awards (GSTA) annually recognize outstanding graduate teaching assistants in each faculty at the University of Alberta.


Less than a month after finishing his U SPORTS career with the Golden Bears, power forward Brody Clarke, MBA Candidate (2021), has signed a one-year contract with the Edmonton Stingers of the Canadian Elite Basketball League.

Jason Mills, MBA Candidate (2022), and his photo entry 'Beach Walk' was chosen as the winner among the 10 finalists in this year's International Photo Contest. His entry and accompanying abstract conveyed the idea of getting off the beaten path and looking at something familiar from a new perspective.


Alumni Accomplishments

A donation drive by U of A alumni in Shanghai has collected $25,000 for the purchase of protective equipment for Alberta Health Services (AHS) personnel. Alumni of the Master of Financial Management program donated $5,000 as a group and many other Business alumni were involved.
