Industry Involvement and Connection

The MBA program has strong connections to the employment community in Edmonton and Alberta and we are keenly aware of the pulse of business and factors impacting it. We encourage students to be aware of the industry and organizations they are considering working for and take advantage of the numerous opportunities to meet and develop relationships with those who are in a position to hire. There is also a LinkedIn group of alumni who are a great resource for one another and a group you can join when you graduate.
Business Alumni Association
Alumni Support
Alumni play a critical role by providing key information and connections to a number of industries in Canada and around the world and we work closely with the Business Alumni Association to maintain and grow our connections by sharing events such as our recent alumni/MBA office joint event hosted in San Francisco. Alumni and their work are the greatest promotional tool of the program because they demonstrate, on a daily basis, what our students can do and many come back to visit when the companies they work for are recruiting.
Career Connect
Career Management Platform
CareerConnect is a one stop shop for all the information students will need in their career journey within the Masters programs. The software platform holds our job postings for students access, information and access to registering for our employer events and houses resources for case studies. Appointments with coaches can also be booked using the system and where information on summer internships and our unique mentorship program can be found.

Career Connect also houses hundreds of active contacts within businesses that we reach out to on a regular basis and is the main mode of communication to our employer network. Employers can log into Career Connect and post their opportunities for easy access to our talent. If you are an employer interested in learning how to use our system, feel free to contact mbatalent@ualberta.ca.
