Energy and Environment Speaker Series
How has the carbon tax impacted businesses in Alberta?
Alberta introduced an economy wide carbon tax in 2017, with the goal of providing financial incentives for businesses and households to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs). The tax is applied to all fuels that emit GHGs when burned, like gasoline, diesel and natural gas. The impact of this tax on businesses has varied, depending on size of the business and the energy intensity.
Join us for the next event in our next Energy and Environment Speaker Series where we will engage with businesses from across various sectors to understand how much of an impact the carbon tax has had to date and what ideas companies may have to maintain competitiveness in their respective sectors.
