Energy and the Environment at the Alberta School of Business

Energy and Environment Speaker Series

Assessing the Competitiveness of Alberta's Petrochemical Sector

The petrochemical sector in North America is thriving, fuelled by low cost natural gas and liquids feedstocks. In 2016, the Government of Alberta announced the Petrochemicals Diversification Program, designed to encourage investment in Alberta’s petrochemical sector, and two projects totalling $6 billion in investment received approval in December.

How competitive are Alberta’s projects relative to other North American facilities? Where is the market for the derivatives?

The Alberta School of Business invites you to the latest event in our Energy Speaker series, to be held on February 21, 2017 at the Matrix Hotel in Edmonton. Moderated by Michael Smith of Golder Associates and featuring a panel of experts from the sector, the session will focus on the competitiveness of Alberta’s petrochemical projects.
