Lloyd Steier

Lloyd Steier, PhD, is Vice-Dean as well as Professor of Strategic Management and Organization at the University of Alberta School of Business.  He also holds a Distinguished Chair in Entrepreneurship and Family Enterprise and is internationally recognized for his research in these areas.  He has taught at the BCom., MBA, PHD, executive and family outreach levels and has also worked with numerous public and private sector organizations in advisory, speaker, consulting, and executive development roles.  Lloyd currently serves as the Academic Director of the Alberta Business Family Institute and is also Vice-Chair of the Family Firm Institute, the leading global membership organization of individuals serving the family enterprise field headquartered in Boston, USA.

Blaise Foulston
KPMG

Blaise is a Senior Manager with KPMG’s Tax practice in Edmonton with seven years of experience providing Canadian tax, accounting, audit, and business advisory services to a variety of private companies. Additionally, he provides tax planning advice and assistance to many of our Enterprise clients, including many of our high net-worth clients. 
Blaise is a graduate of the University of Alberta and received his CA designation in 2011.  He has completed Parts I and II of CPA Canada’s In-depth Tax Course, and expects completion of Part III in August of 2015 

Michael Klaray
Duncan & Craig LLP

Michael Klaray started working with Duncan Craig LLP in the summer of 2006 while attending law school and articled with the firm in 2008 after graduating. Michael was admitted to the Alberta Bar in 2009. He is a member of Duncan Craig LLP’s Estate Solutions Practice Group working primarily in the area of estates and trusts. His practice includes Estate planning through the preparation of Wills, Personal directives, Powers of Attorneys and Trusts, as well as Estate administration, Estate litigation and Adult incapacity.

Michael is currently a member of the executive for both the Wills & Estates Section and the Elder Law Section of the Canadian Bar Association and is also a member of the Estate Planning Council of Edmonton. Michael has presented on the topic of estates and trusts to professionals and the public and participates in the Edmonton Community Foundation Wills Week. In April, Michael co-presented a paper at the 2015 Lake Louise Wills & Estates Refresher.
