Almost every road in Alberta leads to a family-owned business, whether it is a family farm or downtown corporate headquarters. While the structure and function of organizations along this spectrum vary immensely, they typically share ongoing or periodic challenges related to communication, management, conflict resolution, succession planning—issues that are unique to family enterprise.
The Alberta Business Family Institute is dedicated to providing resources and support to family enterprises across Alberta. Creating Pathways for Entrepreneurial Families (CPEF) was a rural development initiative through which ABFI has been able to extend our reach.
Rural Alberta’s Development Fund Supports Alberta Business Family Institute
Support from Rural Alberta’s Development Fund (RADF) assists the Alberta Business Family Institute in offering resources, knowledge and skills to rural residents at significantly reduced rates. A $1.5 million grant from RADF has helped us build sustainable communities across rural Alberta. This rural development initiative, supported by ground-breaking research and top scholars, has brought expertise, education, mentoring and training programs into your community—tools that will help you develop and implement successful strategies for the future.
