Dates and Deadlines

Due to the ongoing uncertainty and risks associated with the global COVID-19 pandemic, the Alberta School of Business has suspended all exchange programs for the 2020/2021 academic year. We will begin to accept nominations for exchange during the 2021/2022 academic year on November 1, 2020 with the hope that conditions will improve and international travel and safety issues will not limit future programs. Please be aware, however, that all future exchanges to the University of Alberta will be subject to any restrictions or quarantine policies implemented by the University of Alberta or the Government of Canada moving forward.

Completed application packages must be received prior to the following application deadlines:

Fall Semester (Sept - Dec): APRIL 1*

Winter Semester (Jan - April): SEPTEMBER 15*

*All applications received before this deadline will be considered for admission. However, please understand that later application will likely mean more limited course options available and a more difficult time trying to secure on-campus housing. The Alberta School of Business at the University of Alberta cannot guarantee course selections or housing preference. To ensure students have a better chance of getting their choice of courses, EARLY APPLICATION IS STRONGLY ENCOURAGED. Processing of applications takes approximately 4-8 weeks.

IMPORTANT: Please DO NOT make any travel arrangements until you have received an official letter of admission from the University of Alberta and a student visa to enter Canada.

* International Student Orientation (called "Transitions") is strongly recommended for all new incoming international students. Students are therefore expected to arrive in time to attend this orientation (approximately one week prior to the first day of class). Details of the orientation will be announced upon acceptance, or can be found on the International Student Services website.

* MBA Dual Degree participants will attend the week-long new MBA Student Orientation prior to semester start and should plan to be at the University of Alberta through June of the year following their admission in order to complete all requirements for the program. Invitation and details to be provided by the MBA Program Office directly to participants.
