Pests

Report all pest issues (mice, fruit flies or otherwise) to 780-492-7671. It is important that you do not clean up mice droppings on your own. Call the general office and they will arrange to have it cleaned according to University regulations.

Pest Prevention

  • Decrease food smells and ensure offices are clean of all food items as best you can by placing compostable materials into larger garbage containers found in larger common areas (office garbages are emptied every 2 weeks whereas common area garbages are emptied daily).

  • Place candy, snacks, tea, and coffee in sealed containers.

  • Eliminate the use of scents (perfumes, scented hand creams, essential oil smells).

  • Decrease or eliminate plants in your area.

  • Ensure all bags or boxes are hung up and off the floor.

  • Keep your office space tidy. Pests love untidy spaces.

  • TIP: fabric softener sheets, Irish Spring soap, and peppermint oil are natural pest repellents.
