Major in Finance Electives

Finance electives may be chosen from any 400-level FIN courses. Students may also substitute a maximum of *6 credits in ACCTG, BUEC, ECON or MGTSC for finance electives. The Department of Finance and Statistical Analysis has approved the following courses as acceptable substitutions:
  • ACCTG 412 -- Financial Reporting for Managers and Analysts
  • ACCTG 432 -- Financial Statement Analysis I
  • BUEC 342 -- Introduction to International Business
  • BUEC 442 -- The Global Business Environment
  • BUEC 455 -- Real Estate Asset Strategies
  • BUEC 463 -- Energy and the Environment
  • ECON 341 -- Money and Banking (not open to students who have taken FIN 414)
  • ECON 353 -- Taxation Policy and Structure
  • MGTSC 405 -- Forecasting for Planners and Managers
  • MGTSC 458 -- Assessing National Economies

Not currently offered: ACCTG 433, 442, 462;  OM 404

The elective courses are reviewed every year.  Suggestions for changes to the list should be sent to the FSA Department.
