Student Ambassadors 2019/2020

Nobeldeep Brar
Nobel is currently in her last year, pursuing a major in Management Information Systems and minor in Computing Science. Nobel is also a former Co-op student with work experience in various companies in financial and technology sector. Aside from the day-to -day assignments, Nobel takes great pride and joy in being involved in the Alberta School of Business community. Over the years, Nobel has been involved in several student groups including Alberta Energy Challenge, Interdisciplinary Consulting Association and Cooperative Students Association while assisting students in her role as a Teaching Assistant for MIS 311.Outside of school and away from the professional world, Nobel enjoys binge-watching Netflix, reading, baking and then eating those delicious baked goodies! Nobel can be found exploring through different genres of books at one of the Indigo or Coles locations across the city. Nobel has always been an avid Alberta School of Business advocate, which is why she is very excited to represent the school as a Student Ambassador.

Udayan Chawla
Udayan is a fourth year international student pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in Accounting at the Alberta School of Business. He will be graduating in 2020 and plans on pursuing a CPA designation after. Udayan has had previous work experience in banking and oil and gas at TD Canada Trust and Schlumberger Ltd. After graduating, he will be starting full-time at KPMG as a Staff Accountant. Udayan is also part of the Leadership Certificate Program. He is interested in extra-curricular activities such as community service, event management, music and dance.  

Mursal Fazli
Mursal is an After-Degree Bachelor of Commerce student, majoring in Finance. Mursal has completed a Bachelor of Science degree with a Community Engagement and Service-Learning certificate at the University of Alberta. She represented the University of Alberta as a Student Ambassador at events such as President’s society dinner, Alumni weekend, and Open house. Other organizations that she has been a part of during her university years include Skills Society of Edmonton, Kiwanis Club, and The Canadian blood services. Upon graduating, Mursal felt more drawn to the world of Business and began a career in the banking field. She is pursuing the CFA designation and hopes to write her Level I exam by the end of next year. When she is not busy with school, volunteering or working, you can find her capturing the beauty of Edmonton and the world through her camera lens. Mursal is passionate about photography and travel and loves sharing her experiences through social media. She is proud to represent the Alberta School of Business as a Student Ambassador and hopes to use this opportunity to share her experiences and learn from the Business community.

Aidan Fitzpatrick
Aidan is a third year Bachelor of Commerce Cooperative Education student pursuing a Finance major. Last year Aidan was a member of the University of Alberta Biomedical Technologies Development Group's Commercial Team. As a Resident Assistant Aidan is a leader in his community. In the upcoming year, Aidan will be starting a cooperative education work term, and he is eager to continue to build a professional skillset. In his spare time, Aidan plays in the East Campus Dodgeball League. Aidan is excited to showcase what the Alberta School of Business has to offer and make connections as a Student Ambassador.

Sarah Fong
Sarah is a fourth year Bachelor of Commerce Cooperative Education student majoring in Strategic Management and Organization, and minoring in Business Economics and Law.  Alongside co-leading a social entrepreneurship project (with a nonprofit called Enactus) dedicated to creating upcycled-packaging materials, Sarah is one of 12 students chosen to complete the Business Leadership Certificate Program.  Outside classes, Sarah works part time as a specialty-leasing intern in the retail real estate and property management sector.  She also teaches speech arts empowering young students improve their public speaking, and volunteers with the Sustainability Council’s Public Education team on campus.  In 2020, Sarah will be completing another Cooperative education work term, and she is eager to continue building a professional skill set.  Sarah is thrilled to be representing her faculty as a Student Ambassador and looks forward to sharing insights with others about the fantastic opportunities available at the Alberta School of Business.  

Emma Hardy
Emma is a fourth year Accounting major with a minor in Finance at the University of Alberta. She will be pursuing the CPA designation after she graduates next winter. Emma would like to pursue a career that will allow her to utilize her finance and accounting background to help develop realistic and achievable financial goals in developing companies. Outside of school, she enjoys playing sports such as hockey and skiing as well as going back home to Jasper to be with her family. Emma is thrilled and very proud to be a Student Ambassador representing everything that the Alberta School of Business has to offer.

Sarah Hasan

Sarah Hasan
Sarah is a fourth year Accounting major, with a minor in Strategic Management. She is a member of the Business Leadership Certificate Program and will be starting her second Co-op term with a large accounting firm this winter. Sarah is an active volunteer with a local not-for profit known as Infinite Woofs Animal Rescue where she is a foster parent for rescued kittens that require a temporary home and care. Sarah works at the Grey Nuns Community hospital as a food service worker and this year she is also a teacher’s assistant for Accounting 311. When she is not working or volunteering, Sarah loves travelling, hiking, reading fiction and spending time with her friends and family. Sarah is excited to be part of the Student Ambassador program where she will have a chance to represent the school while having fun and meeting new people!

Ellie Huang
Ellie is in her final year of Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Finance at the Alberta School of Business. She is planning to write her CFA Level I in June next year.  Before joining Qube Investment, Ellie had worked at ATB Financial and RBC Royal Bank. She is also an International School Program Coordinator at the Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation. She has been involved in Rotary International for the past eight years and enjoys exploring new places and connecting with people and the community.


Lukian Kruhlak

Lukian Kruhlak
Lukian is a fourth year Co-op student, at the University of Alberta He is majoring and minoring in Finance and Business Economics and Law, respectively. He has always enjoyed being involved in both school and in the community. At the university, Lukian has been involved with many business clubs. He was on the Alberta JDC West Athletics team in both his first and second year in the Alberta School of Business. He also held the role of VP Finance for the 2018 Rocky Mountain Business Seminar as well as an executive position for the Business Finance Association. This will be his second year as an Alberta School of Business Student Ambassador. All of these positions have allowed him to meet some great people and work closely with incredible executive members. In school, Lukian has really enjoyed his Finance and Business Law classes. Lukian hopes to potentially pursue his CFA designation and work in the banking industry in the future. His biggest passion is sports. Growing up he played soccer, volleyball, basketball, golf and hockey. Hockey was his favourite, having played it for over 16 years. In his free time, you can find him either in a basketball court, watching the Oilers, or going for walks with his dog. Lukian can’t wait to represent the Alberta School of Business again as a Student Ambassador.

Nickia Kwan
Nickia is a fifth year Strategic Management and Organization major, Business Economics and Law minor. Throughout university, Nickia has held leadership positions in several student organizations including VP Student Relations for 5 Days for the Homeless, VP Logistics and Co-Chair for the Rocky Mountain Business Seminar, and Director for the Business Students' Association. When she is not in school or working, Nickia enjoys hiking, reading, spending time with friends & family and trying out new local restaurants. Nickia is passionate about organizational change management and hopes to put it into practice through consulting. She is excited to be a Student Ambassador and cannot wait to meet new people and show all the amazing opportunities the Alberta School of Business has to offer! 

Ren An Lim
Ren is in the final year of his Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in Management Information Systems. He recently returned from an exchange at the EDHEC Business School in France this past summer, working on a consulting project for a modern art museum. He enjoys being heavily involved in multiple clubs, student groups as well as in international student residence. In his spare time, Ren loves to travel, volunteer in education-focused charities and hiking. He avidly follows the automotive industry, and the field of technology and international business. Ren is extremely proud to represent the Alberta School of Business as Student Ambassador and is excited to meet new students, alumni and members of the community.

Ross Liu
Ross is a fourth year Bachelor Commerce student majoring in Finance and minoring in MIS. In the near future, he is looking forward to a career in international business and governance, with the goal of getting his CFA and working for the Bank of Canada. At the University of Alberta School of Business, he can be found studying at the library, or often helping with school events. Outside of the school, Ross is involved in his local community league, enjoys volunteering at the Edmonton Humane Society, and loves to travel. Ross is proud to be a Student Ambassador and hopes to leave a positive impact through the Ambassador Program.

Cierra McLean

Cierra McLean
Cierra is currently in her fourth year at the Alberta School of Business, majoring in Economics and Law and minoring in Marketing. She is involved as a Logistics Director for the Network of Empowered Women, which creates a conference for 100 delegates at the Fairmont Lake Louise in 2020. Outside of school, Cierra is active at the dance studio where she rehearses with the Ukrainian Shumka Dancers, or works at her internship at a private equity firm. Cierra is very excited to represent the Alberta School of Business as a Student Ambassador for a second year! 

Daniel Nguyen

Daniel Nguyen
Daniel is a fourth year Bachelor of Commerce student majoring in Operations Management. Throughout his time in school, he has involved himself in numerous case competitions, which has inspired him to pursue a career in consulting. He is also involved in many extra-curricular activities and is currently the Co-President of the SMO Club. Outside of school, Daniel enjoys following sports, esports, and playing the piano. He cannot wait to represent the school at all the awesome events this year!

Anika Nurzahan

Anika Nurzahan
Anika is a third year Bachelor of Commerce student with a major in Accounting. She has been consistently active throughout her university years with various clubs including but not limited to the Muslim Students Association and currently a mentor with the Alberta School of Business Mentorship Program. Outside of university she volunteers at Misericordia as a Nursing Ambassador, works with Muslim Association of Canada as an administrative assistant of one of their programs, and during her free time loves cooking. This past summer she was a proud part of the WEEL workshop which focused on research she and her classmates did on the Alberta School of Business gender wage gap for recent graduates. Anika is super excited to be representing the Alberta School of Business as a student ambassador and looks forward to sharing her experiences and love for the faculty!

Ololade Osunnaike
Ololade is a fourth year Business Economics and Law major with a minor in Marketing. She is an international student from Nigeria who has had the privilege to live in different countries across four continents. She speaks English, Yoruba and Spanish. She is currently a Residence Representative on the East Campus Students Association (ECSA). In the past, Ololade has also been involved in a number of student governance roles by founding the Social Awareness Club and being an international senior peer mentor as well as campus ambassador. Over the past three summers, Ololade has split her time interning at KPMG and AXA Mansard. Upon graduation, she hopes to begin pursuing an MBA in Strategy and Consulting.  She also aims to have a successful career as a Brand, Strategy and Management Consultant. Ololade is an avid traveler as she is passionate about learning new languages and experiencing new cultures. In her free time, Ololade enjoys listening to music, watching Netflix and spending time with family and friends. She is honoured to serve as a Student Ambassador for the Alberta School of Business.

Gabriela Sanchez
Gabriela is a third year business student looking forward to graduate with Honors in Finance and minor in Economics. She is passionate about capital markets and is a strong advocate for the adoption of value-based investment options by wealth management firms. She is pursuing the CFA designation and will be writing the Level I exam next summer. Currently, Gabriela held the position of VP of Finance at TEDxUAlberta, a chapter of the global non-profit TED, devoted to giving voice to ideas worth spreading. On March 2019, she represented the University of Alberta at the NMUN at United Nations Headquarters, New York. Along with students from worldwide institutions, she participated in the discussion about the Sustainable Development Goals. Gabriela has also been a part of Sustain SU, Shinerama Canada, Student's Advisory Committee and AEC 2018. Outside the classroom, Gabriela is working as a student leader for Residence Services and she is currently a Teaching Assistant for BUS 202. Gabriela is passionate about sports, particularly swimming and running, which she practices everyday regardless of how busy the day might have been for her. She is eager to be a Student Ambassador and continue learning and showcasing opportunities for personal and professional growth offered at the Alberta School of Business!

Drashti Shah
Drashti is a third year Accounting student, minoring in International Business. She plans on pursuing her CPA and working in the Entertainment industry. She loves event planning and being involved around campus and currently contributes to the community at the university in the capacity of VP of Events for the Entrepreneurship Club and Event planner for NextStep, Enactus. She is a fan of extreme sports such as bungee jumping, scuba diving, and parasailing and is planning her next trip to Skydive! As a Student Ambassador, she aims to highlight the various ways to contribute as well as make the most out of the opportunities offered by the Alberta School of Business!

Kiran Sokhal

Kiran is in her final year as a Bachelor of Commerce Co-op Student, pursuing an Accounting major. She previously completed an eight-month placement at MNP, and is currently finishing her last placement at the Government of Canada. She is excited to enter the workforce and pursue her CPA designation with Deloitte upon graduation. Kiran is passionate about interacting and building relations with others, which has led her to become a Student Ambassador for the Alberta School of Business, Exchange Buddy for the Business Exchange Association and previously a Graduation Big for the Boys and Girls Club. She also participated on an academic exchange program in Vienna last semester, through which she was able to broaden her education, while making life-long connections all around the world. On her spare time, you can find Kiran playing basketball, trying new brunch places, or watching Netflix. Kiran is very excited to represent the Alberta School of Business this upcoming year. 

Zack Stanicky

Zack Stanicky
Zack is in the final year of his Bachelor of Commerce program majoring in Finance. This is his second year with the Student Ambassador program and he is proud to represent the school at various special events. Zack transferred to the University of Alberta School of Business in his second year and has taken many opportunities to get involved with the school since. Some of these include participating in different clubs, attending networking events, hosting workshops &learning sessions, competing in case competitions, sitting on student panels, and having a ton of fun at the UASU events. Aside from school, Zack is currently working with TD Canada Trust on the Commercial Credit Team and is looking forward to graduating and pursuing a career in Finance. Zack is also interested in travelling, cooking, and everything automotive, so feel free to spark up a conversation with him about any of those topics.

Brooklyn Traficante
Brooklyn is a fourth year Bachelor of Commerce Cooperative Education student, with a major in Marketing and a minor in Psychology. Brooklyn recently finished an eight-month Co-op placement at TELUS, where she hopes to pursue a career in Marketing and Communications. She enjoys getting involved with the community by volunteering for organizations such as Special Olympics Edmonton and the Schizophrenia Society of Alberta. Brooklyn is also an avid Toastmasters member and is the Vice President of Communications for the Cooperative Education Students Association (CESA). In her free time, she enjoys working out, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Brooklyn is excited to be able to represent the Alberta School of Business through the Student Ambassador Program. She is looking forward to making new connections and showcasing all the opportunities that the school has to offer!

Britney Trieu
Britney Trieu is a third year Finance major enrolled in the Bilingual Commerce program. She is involved in various student clubs across campus, with a primary focus on entrepreneurship, languages, and finance. She is an external manager on NextStep, a project of Enactus that promotes financial literacy through conferences and workshops. In addition, she is also a part of KGK, a student club that promotes East Asian Studies through various cultural and language events. Outside of university, she is working on founding two student ventures: one is an online retail business focused on Asian accessories and products, and the other is a cosmetic cover business that was an extension of her BUS201 group project. She is also involved in case competitions. When she isn’t working towards building her career, you can find her practicing voice or improving her language skills. In the future, she hopes to merge her passions for entrepreneurship, languages, and finance together. Britney is super excited to represent the Alberta School of Business and further the public’s understanding of the many opportunities the school has to offer. 

Pearl Venpin

Pearl Emily Venpin
Pearl, also known as Emily, is currently in her final year of the Bachelor of Commerce program majoring in Accounting and minoring in MIS. Previously, Emily had the opportunity to explore the world of Accounting and Finance with all three levels of government: federal, provincial and municipal. She also serves as a mentor in the Cooperative Education Student Association club and she currently works as a MIS 311 TA. Aside from school, Emily also works as a lifeguard and aquatic instructor trainer where she teaches individuals, on how to become an aquatics instructor. In her spare time, she loves eating delicious food with her family and friends. Emily is honoured to be presenting, once again, the School of Business as a Student Ambassador. 

Chris Willms
Chris is a fourth year Bachelor of Commerce student with a major in Business Economics and Law. He is currently a student member of the Administrative Committee for Transfer Credit and a member of the Office of the Registrar Student Advisory Committee. In addition to this, he is working part time as a Research Assistant. After transferring from a degree in English and History, Chris decided to complete his Bachelor’s degree at the Alberta School of Business to pursue a future in public policy through either business or government. Having spent several years working in construction in Alberta and several years pursuing an education in Toronto and Edmonton he believes in a diverse approach to problem solving, especially in the public sphere and hopes to utilize his business degree to do that. When he is not studying, he is likely reading, watching hockey, running, or hiking the Rockies with his wife. He is excited to represent the Alberta School of Business as a Student Ambassador to promote the strengths of the school and the value of the skills that it teaches.

Christopher Yakiwchuk

Chris is in his fourth year of an Entrepreneurship major.  Around the U of A campus, Chris can be seen with the University Toastmasters Club where he has been a proud member and club president for the past two years.  He is also excited to be involved with the engineering club Formula SAE.  Chris' future plans include pursuing an MBA either here at home or abroad and he hopes to one day be working in Europe in the realm of sports marketing.  Chris is back for a second year as an Alberta School of Business Ambassador, and is dedicated to promoting all the amazing events and programs within the Alberta School of Business!
