What will you miss most about being a U of A student?

I'll miss the excitement and promise of the first week back at school. All the beer gardens, club fairs, and new school supplies.

What impact has the Alberta School of Business had on your life?

The Alberta School of Business has allowed me to step outside of my comfort zone in ways that I didn't realize I could. Whether it was jumping into a pool in the dead of winter to raise money for charity, or presenting at case competitions on little to no sleep, the School of Business really pushed me to try new things beyond sitting in a lecture hall.

If you got one university do-over, what would it be?

I wish I didn't stress out so much. It's important to enjoy your time as a student. Sometimes it's okay to just hang out on campus, do nothing, and shoot the breeze over beers.

Which business class/professor did you enjoy the most and why?

Webb Dussome. Seriously one of the most genuine, helpful, and encouraging professors I had. Not only is he super knowledgeable and experienced in so many aspects of business and marketing, but you can also tell he's really invested in engaging his students and helping them succeed.

Do you have any advice for young people who are either thinking of starting a BCom degree or are working towards one?

Find your niche at the School of Business. You don't have to do everything, but get involved with a student group, try a couple case competitions, or consider an additional program like Cooperative Education. This faculty offers a lot of opportunities beyond classroom learning, so really take advantage of them.

What's next after graduation?

After spending a month abroad in Europe, I'm just starting a new job as an account coordinator for FREE Advertising in Edmonton.
