Honors Degree

The Bachelor of Commerce Honors Program provides specialization in the chosen subject, with study in greater depth than is provided in the BCom program, and demands a higher standard of performance. It provides a challenging curriculum for students interested in pursuing research-oriented graduate business studies or interested in working in positions requiring more rigorous preparation in higher level business skills. Accounting Honors Program

The BCom Honors in Accounting Program is designed for Accounting majors who want to have a deeper understanding in the history of accounting thought, professionalism, and finance, including the areas of pro forma modeling of financial statements and valuation. An honors program gives us an opportunity to create “thought leaders” for the accounting profession, and provide a special for our best students. Honors program graduates are expected to become leaders of the accounting profession.

Finance Honors Program

The BCom Honors in Finance program follows the same general program of studies as the BCom with a Major in Finance, with additional required courses. The program is meant for students who wish to follow a more rigorous quantitative program. Additional required courses are the FIN Honors Essay course and one graduate level FIN course, plus MATH 115, MATH 125, MGTSC 705, and STAT 265. Various streams such as Accounting, Economics or Math are possible. Please contact the Department for suggested streams.

Operations Management Honors Program

The BCom Honors in Operations Management program follows the same general program of studies as the BCom with a Major in Operations Management, with additional required courses. The program is meant for students who wish to follow a more rigorous quantitative program.
