FIN 488: Responsible Investment

FIN 488, LEC B4 - Responsible Investment
Thursdays 1100-1350
Instructor: Lukas Roth

Capital market participants, corporations, and other stakeholders around the world are increasingly focusing on ESG (environmental, social, and governance) issues to manage risks and capitalize on new opportunities. This course offers an introduction to how ESG issues affect and are incorporated into the decision-making process by investors, corporations, the financial service industry, and other stakeholders. We will discuss various ESG issues while following the flow of capital through the investment chain from savers to corporations, the ultimate users of capital.

Teaching methods: lectures, cases, group projects, guest lectures, and company visits. Active student participation in class discussions, cases, and group presentations is required. Course attendance is mandatory. Open to third and fourth year students.

Prerequisite: FIN 301 and FIN 412.
