The Alberta Haskayne Executive MBA Program is a very intensive two-year program. Students typically work full-time while managing the demands of the program over the two-year period. Success requires strong time-management skills and a high scholastic aptitude. Admission to the Executive MBA Program is highly selective. We seek motivated, bright, articulate individuals who have strong standards of personal ethics. No formula is employed in admission decision-making. Rather, each candidate is evaluated individually to assess compatibility between the applicant and the program. The following sets out the entrance requirements in more detail:
GMAT or GRE
Letters of Reference
Statement of Intent
Applicants should hold a four-year undergraduate degree from a recognized institution with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or B over your last two years of study. For individuals with International education, please see our equivalent academic requirements.
Candidates who do not hold an undergraduate degree but have considerable professional experience may also be admissible. Individuals who feel that this situation applies to them are encouraged to contact the admissions office to discuss their status.

Probably the most important requirement for the Executive MBA program is work experience. Applicants require at least seven years of work experience. Candidates are expected to show evidence of progression in their job responsibilities and should have some supervisory or management experience. On average, Executive MBA students have between 14-16 years of professional experience.
Your application should include a résumé with sufficient details of your professional work experience. Education, volunteer experience, accomplishments achieved at work, and any extracurricular activities should also be highlighted.
The GMAT or GRE is required for all applicants who do not have an undergraduate degree from a recognized institution, or have an undergraduate degree with less than a 3.0 / 4.0 GPA. For individuals with an international background, we will review your background to see if you qualify for a GMAT exemption.
The GMAT is a standardized assessment required by MBA schools to evaluate applicants. The exam measures your verbal, mathematical, and analytical writing skills.
Candidates are required to submit two letters of reference. These assist the School in evaluating the candidate's managerial, administrative, and academic skills. Letters of reference should be obtained from current or past supervisors. In the online application, you will be asked to provide the name and email address for your referees.
A statement of intent, approximately one to two pages in length, must be included with your application. The statement should outline why you are interested in the program to which you seek admission, what your expectations are for the course of study, and how this degree relates to your career goals.
