Net Impact

The mission of the University of Alberta Net Impact chapter is to inspire, educate, and equip individuals to use the power of business to create a more socially and environmentally sustainable world. To fulfil this mission, University of Alberta Net Impact chapter will remain committed to providing its members with an array of opportunities that will:

  • Empower graduate students to use their skills to positively impact their surroundings
    • One of these opportunities is through Net Impact consulting, where MBA students are selected to work pro-bono on sustainability or socially-focused projects
  • Help them put their beliefs into action through sustainability efforts
  • Enlarge their professional network with other like-minded individuals who have demonstrated their commitment to corporate social responsibility

MBA Finance Trek 2017

The MBA Finance Association (MFA) is a club of MBA students sharing a passion for finance and investments. We largely bank on aspirations and dedication of our team members, and not just on their prior work experience or credentials. The MFA organizes events such as a virtual stock trading competition, career fairs in association with industry bodies such as the PRMIA and the local CFA society, and other industry mixer events. The main endeavour of the MFA is to create a strong platform and visibility for finance students in the local industry.

MBA Games

A-Team at the 2017 MBA Games in Nanaimo, B.C.

Held annually, the MBA Games is a national competition that brings together MBA students from business schools across Canada to compete in a series of academic, athletic and spirit events. The Alberta School of Business A-Team has a strong history of success at the MBA Games, including our 3rd place finish in the 2017 MBA Games in Nanaimo, B.C. This is a great opportunity to get to know your classmates and put your best foot forward in competing with the best MBA students in the country.

The goal of eGRAD is to foster a sense of entrepreneurial thinking across campus by coordinating local entrepreneurship events in different faculties.  eGRAD members are primarily MBA students and promote entrepreneurship across campus by hosting graduate level talks, seminars, competitions and events.

Supply Chain and Operations Management Club

The Supply Chain and Operations Management Club (SCOM Club) at the Alberta School of Business is a student-run body governed by the MBA Association, which is aimed at connecting Alberta MBA students with SCMA professionals, alumni, and supply chain industry professionals.

The SCOM Club provides an exciting environment for MBA students to learn about supply chain and operations management through guest speaker sessions, networking sessions, company tours, career development sessions, and case competitions. The SCOM Club's partnership with SCMA, Alberta provides members the opportunity to sharpen their skills and expand their network in the supply chain industry.

MBA Womens Network

MBA Women’s Network grew out of the need for a support system for women in business program and as a platform to bring strong industry role models to the school. Over the years, it has evolved to become one of the prominent clubs of the MBA program with many successful speaker sessions under its hat.

MBA Analytics Club

The MBA Analytics Club aims to promote literacy and awareness of data driven decision making that pervades all aspects of business. Within various industries such as finance and healthcare, there is an incredible opportunity to capture data and gather insights. To this effect, the club aims to bridge the gap between students and industry to provide a better sense of current trends and how one can equip themselves to become more effective at using data. The club has held speaker series and talks, provided information about local Edmonton analytics related events and organized a case competition with a data driven outcome.
